I’m all for it! My engagement ring is an aquamarine.

The most important thing in choosing a gemstone is its everyday durability (not just hardness) so you are sure the stones will not be damaged from being worn daily.

I think it can be totally lovely, especially if there are diamond accents or sidestones.
Several years ago, I bought myself a pink topaz dress ring with diamond shoulder stones that I always thought would make a lovely engagement ring.
Diamonds are often chosen because they match everything, as well as for their hardness.
One important thing to be careful of when choosing a gemstone ring, is the setting – because it can be hard sometimes to find a wedding band to match/fit.

Go for it! I would of loved a ruby or even a saphire engagement ring. I got a diamond and I adore it because my man got it for me….but I would of been just as happy with a gemstone ring. If you love a particular stone, you should have it, it will make it more special and unique

Gemstones are beautiful, but some women can be pretty picky about colors.

My favorite way to go is a gemstone with diamonds on either side. You could also do the opposite.
